5-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Your 5-day Morocco tour begins with pickup in Casablanca.

Leave Casablanca and travel north toward Rabat, Morocco's capital. Take time to discover some of the city's historic areas and enjoy its relaxed atmosphere before continuing your journey.

After your visit, travel inland toward Fes.

The road introduces you to another side of Morocco as the busy Atlantic region gives way to quieter countryside and inland landscapes.

Arrive in Fes later in the day and settle into your accommodation.

Fes is one of Morocco's most important cultural cities, known for its old medina, traditional crafts and historic architecture. Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy a relaxed evening or take a short walk before the journey continues south the following morning.

Spend the first night in Fes.

After breakfast, leave Fes and begin one of the most scenic driving days of your Morocco tour from Casablanca.

Travel through Ifrane and continue into the Middle Atlas Mountains. The landscape here is greener and cooler than the Sahara, with mountain roads, forests and small communities along the way.

Continue south toward Midelt, where a break can be made before the journey continues toward the desert.

As you travel farther south, the scenery changes again. Pass through the Ziz Valley, where palm trees stretch between rocky mountains and dry landscapes.

Continue toward Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Arrive in the Merzouga area later in the day. Unlike a shorter four-day route, there is no need to begin the camel trek immediately after the long drive from Fes.

Visit Khamlia, a village near Merzouga known for its local culture and musical traditions. Depending on the day's arrangements, there can also be time for additional stops around the desert.

The slower pace is one of the main advantages of this five-day journey. Instead of simply arriving in Merzouga for the night, you have time to see more of the Sahara region and enjoy the atmosphere around the dunes.

Later in the afternoon, prepare for your camel trek.

Ride across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes as the sun moves lower over the desert. Stop to enjoy the views and watch the sunset before continuing toward your camp.

After arriving at the Sahara camp, enjoy dinner and spend the night in the quiet desert surroundings.

Start the morning in the peaceful surroundings of the Sahara.

If you wish, wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes before breakfast at the camp.

Leave Merzouga and begin traveling west through southeastern Morocco.

Pass through the Rissani area before continuing toward Tinghir and Todra Gorges.

At Todra Gorges, take time to walk between the high canyon walls and enjoy the dramatic natural scenery. The rocky cliffs provide a very different landscape from the open Sahara dunes you experienced the previous day.

After the visit, continue toward the Dades Valley.

The route passes through small towns, palm-filled areas and mountain landscapes before reaching the Dades region.

Arrive later in the day for dinner and your final overnight stay before continuing to Marrakech.

After breakfast, leave the Dades Valley and begin the final stage of your five-day journey through Morocco.

Travel west through the landscapes of southern Morocco toward Ouarzazate. Along the way, see dry mountains, traditional villages and wide valleys.

Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, one of the best-known fortified villages in southern Morocco.

Take time to explore the village and its traditional earthen architecture before continuing toward the High Atlas Mountains.

Cross the mountains on the road to Marrakech, with stops available for photos, rest and meals depending on your schedule.

As you approach Marrakech, the mountain landscapes gradually give way to the plains surrounding the city.

Arrive in Marrakech later in the day.
