Tour Overview

Your Morocco journey

Leave Fes behind and experience the Sahara on this private 3-day journey to Merzouga and the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

The route begins by traveling south from Fes through Ifrane and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Forests, mountain roads and cooler landscapes gradually change as you continue toward Midelt and the valleys of southeastern Morocco.

Farther south, travel through the Ziz Valley, where long palm groves run between rocky mountains. Continue through the Errachidia and Erfoud areas before reaching Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara.

Your first evening is dedicated to one of the main experiences of the journey. Ride a camel across the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy the changing desert light and spend the night at a Sahara camp.

Unlike a route that immediately continues toward Marrakech, this Fes to Merzouga tour gives you another day around the desert. Spend time exploring the landscapes surrounding Merzouga, enjoy the atmosphere of Erg Chebbi and slow the journey down before returning north.

On the third day, leave Merzouga and travel back toward Fes through the Ziz Valley, Middle Atlas region and mountain scenery experienced on the first day from a different direction.

This three-day tour from Fes to Merzouga is a practical choice for travelers who want a Sahara experience while starting and finishing in Fes. It combines mountain landscapes, palm valleys, camel trekking, desert scenery and two nights near Erg Chebbi in one private journey.

As you travel farther south, the landscape gradually becomes drier and more open.

Reach the Ziz Valley and stop to enjoy views across its long palm groves and surrounding rocky scenery.
