Your adventure begins in Tangier, where northern Morocco meets the sea. After your first night, travel into the Rif region toward Chefchaouen. Spending the night in the blue city gives you time to explore its narrow streets and enjoy the quieter evening atmosphere before continuing south.
From Chefchaouen, the route leads to Fes. Two nights in the city allow you to spend a complete day discovering the historic medina, traditional markets, craft workshops and old neighborhoods without having to leave again the following morning.
The scenery changes after Fes as the journey crosses Ifrane and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Continue through Midelt and the Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga beside the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Your Sahara experience includes more than simply passing through the desert. Spend time around Merzouga before riding a camel across the dunes, watching the sunset and spending the night at a desert camp.
After leaving the Sahara, travel west through Rissani, Todra Gorges and the landscapes of the Dades region before arriving in Ouarzazate.

Depending on your interests, the day can also include viewpoints and quieter areas beyond the busiest streets of the medina.
Having a complete day in Fes allows you to experience the city at a comfortable pace rather than treating it as a quick stop on the way south.
Return to your accommodation for a second night in Fes.

After breakfast, leave Fes and begin traveling south toward the Sahara Desert.
Pass through Ifrane before entering the Middle Atlas Mountains.
