Take a brief getaway with this Tour from Fes to Marrakech to view the Moroccan Sahara desert scenery and ride camels across its dunes.
The tour begins with an early pick-up from Fes’s airport or hotel. On our trip to Ifrane, we pass via Imouzzer, a town known for its subzero weather, snowfall, and rural residences built in the shape of a mountain. The Barbary Macaques live in the cedar forest, which is where we next go. We will next go to Midelt, where we will be served lunch. Following that, we travel to the Sahara desert over the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the Ziz river.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Merzouga and board camels to traverse the sandy desert. After that, you’ll be transported to a tall dune to watch the stunning sunset. We continue to the desert camp, where you will participate in a Berber drum dance under the stars. Dinner and an overnight stay await you in the camp.
It’s essential to get up early to watch the dawn in the middle of the desert. Following breakfast, you return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver awaits. Leaving the desert, we go through the Touroug and Tindad palm plantations before arriving at the Todra Gorges. The Todra River’s flow has cut a huge canyon through the mountains, creating a steep red cliffside canyon. We travel through Kasbahs and palm tree gardens to arrive at Ouarzazate for lunch.
We continue our journey to Marrakesh by passing through the famed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a walled hamlet designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Additionally, the Kasbah has appeared in a number of films and television shows. Eventually, we drive via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the Tizi-N-Tichka canyon to reach Marrakech and take you to the airport or your accommodation.
Take advantage of this brief escape to explore Merzouga’s sandy horizon. Please contact us if you require any other information.
