Itinerary of the Marrakech to Fes Tour

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Roses Valley – Dades Valley

The journey begins with a pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. The next leg of our journey takes us through the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and across the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. There will be breaks to take in the breathtaking sights.

Afterwards we head to Ait Benhaddou‘s famous Kasbah. It is a fortified village that has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, the Kasbah has made appearances in a number of movies and TV series, including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Then, we proceed to “The gate of the desert” Ouarzazate.

We resume our trip of the Rose Valley after lunch, going past Skoura’s large palm grove. We eventually arrive at Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Luxury Camp

We will go through the Dades valley and stop at a point with a view of the valley to take in the beautiful panorama of the Dades gorges. Following that, we travel to the Todra Gorges. The Todra River carved a massive canyon through the mountains, resulting in a canyon with steep red cliff sides. Feel free to explore the gorges and admire the landscape.

Following that, we journey through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. After a lunch break, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where you will ride camels across the sandy desert. You will be brought to the top of a high dune to witness the breathtaking sunset.

Then, we go to the opulent desert camp, where you may enjoy dancing around the campfire to Berber drums under a starry sky. You will have supper and sleep in the camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

In the middle of the desert, you awaken early in the morning to observe the stunning sunrise. Following breakfast, your driver will be waiting for you as you ride camels back to Merzouga. Afterwards we leave the desert to explore Rissani, Tafilalet’s old capital. Rissani is still an important commercial hub in the region today, with a bustling souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Following a tour around Rissani souk, we travel to Erfoud and visit one of the fossilized marble factories.

We travel down the Ziz river, stopping to take in the panoramic vista of the Ziz valley. Following lunch in Midelt, we travel to the cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary Macaques. While you’re rambling through the forest, feel free to feed them.

Afterward, we go to Ifrane, which is known for its cold temperatures, snow, and alpine-style residences. It’s no surprise that it’s known as Morocco’s Switzerland. Last but not least, we deliver you to the Fes airport or your hotel.
